POTD Europe 2011 - Day 3 Rome

The highlight of day 3 in Rome was visiting the Vatican Museum. Unfortunately, this experience was dominated by the impression of being squished among throngs of tour groups following someone holding a shabby umbrella or twisted scarf on the end of a telescoping pole.

Still, worth it for the chance to see the Rafael paintings and the Sistine Chapel. While I did get a couple of non-flash decent photos of Rafael's School of Athens, and we even have a couple of cell phone shots of the Sistine Chapel, one of the most fun things was buying and sending postcards from the tiny Vatican post office.
